With ScreenCloud, you can show your digital signage content using supported webOS devices, specifically LG digital signage displays (we do not support LG consumer TVs at this time).
In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to set up ScreenCloud’s webOS player (beta version) app using an LG display. Currently, there is an Alpha version of the WebOS app however we strongly encourage you to use the Beta version as it is the most up to date.
Please note that this version of ScreenCloud's webOS player app is for testing purposes only. A production version of ScreenCloud's webOS player app will be available soon.
Please Note: Currently only webOS Signage 4.1 displays are supported with ScreenCloud's webOS player (alpha and beta versions). As provided in the previous link, the supported series models are UM3(D)F, UH5F, and UH7F from 2019 and 22SM3G from 2020. To create this player version, we tested with the LG 22SM3G-B and LG 49UH5E-B digital signage displays. webOS Signage 4.1 is not to be confused with webOS 4.1, which will not be compatible with our webOS player.

1. How to Upgrade Your LG Display Firmware
It is important to make sure your display is always up to date to ensure optimal use. To upgrade your LG displays firmware, please contact LG via their Global Service Network here so they can get you in touch with a support representative who will guide you through the process.
2. How to Install ScreenCloud on Your LG Display
In order to install ScreenCloud's webOS player (beta version) app onto your LG display, you will need to prepare a USB flash disk specifically configured to use with LG displays.
Your USB flash disk will need to be prepared in FAT32 format with the partition scheme set to MBR (Master Boot Record). If you are using a macOS computer, you can use macOS' Disk Utility tool to do this, but on Windows, you will have to use free 3rd party software as Windows' native utilities cannot do this.
Follow the steps below to prepare your USB flash disk on either Windows or macOS.
1. Prepare your USB flash disk on Windows
2.1.1. First, download Rufus, a free tool for formatting USB flash disks. To do this, go to https://rufus.ie, scroll down to the "Download" section, and download the latest version of Rufus.
2.1.2. Once you finish downloading Rufus, go ahead and open it (you will not need to install the program). Next, make sure your USB flash disk is plugged in, then in Rufus select your USB flash disk from the "Device" section.
2.1.3. Next, set the correct settings to format your USB flash disk (see image below). Under "Boot selection" select "Non bootable". Under "Partition scheme" select "MBR". Under "Volume Label" set a label for your USB flash disk if you would like to. Under "File system" select "Large FAT32" (or if that is not available select "exFAT") and under "Cluster size" select the default option. If advanced format options are expanded, make sure "Quick format" is selected and make sure "Create extended label and icon files" is not selected.
2.1.4. Next, format your drive with these correct settings by selecting "Start". After the formatting process is complete select "Close".
2. Prepare your USB flash disk on macOS
2.2.1. Insert your USB stick and open the Disk Utility application. Open your spotlight search by selecting "CMD + Space" and then searching for "Disk Utility" and then open the application.
2.2.2. In order to change the partition scheme setting, select the "View option" in the top left corner and select "Show All Devices" to reveal the drive you want to format.
2.2.3. Select your USB's drive and then select "Erase" to open your formatting options.
2.2.4. Set a label for your USB flash disk if you would like to and then change the format to "MS-DOS (FAT)".
2.2.5. Next, change the partition scheme to "Master Boot Record (MBR)", and select "Erase". After the formatting process is complete select "Close".
3. Download the ScreenCloud App onto Your USB Flash Disk
2.3.1. Open your USB flash disk and create a folder titled "application" all in lower case letters (this is required in order for your LG display to recognize where the app is located), like so:

2.3.3. After you download the app, drag it into the application folder you just created, like so:
NOTE: In order for your LG display to recognize the ScreenCloud app, you must rename the ipk file from this " com.lg.app.signage_1.0.0_all.ipk" to this " com.lg.app.signage.ipk"
2.3.4. Next, select the "Eject" button next to your USB flash disk to properly remove your USB flash disk from your macOS device.
2.3.5. After you eject your USB flash disk, insert it into the back of your LG display. Your LG display should recognize the USB immediately.
4. How to Install ScreenCloud on Your LG Display
2.4.1. To install ScreenCloud onto your LG display, turn on your LG display and select the home menu button. You will be presented with this screen below:
2.4.2. If you insert your USB flash disk into the back of the display properly, you should see a notification in the top right corner to notify that you have.
2.4.3. Select the "Settings" button in the top right corner and select "OK" on your remote.
2.4.4. In the Settings menu, locate the "SI Server Setting" option and select "OK" on your remote.
2.4.5. Next, select the "SI Server Setting" option on the left side and select "OK" on your remote.
2.4.6. Next, scroll down to the "Application Launch Mode" option and select "Local" by selecting "OK" on your remote.
2.4.7. Next, scroll down to the "Application Type" and select "IPK" by selecting "OK" on your remote.
2.4.8. Next, scroll down to the "Local Application Upgrade" option and select "USB" by selecting "OK" on your remote. Next, select "Confirm" to save your settings and to start the downloading process.
2.4.9. After the ScreenCloud app is done downloading, go ahead and select "OK".
2.4.10. To initiate the upgrade of the app, power off the display, and then power on the display again. You should see a notice in the top right corner as the upgrade is in progress and then the app should automatically open and display a pairing code that you can use to add this screen into your account, like so:
