Section I: Introduction

If you are looking for a slightly stronger media player and additional control features we suggest purchasing the Ugoos AM6 or the X3 Cube.

The Ugoos AM6 is equipped with an Amlogic S922X SoC, 2G of DDR4 RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. This box runs on the Android 9.0 operating system and also has the latest High-Efficiency Video Coding, most commonly known as HEVC or H.265. This next-level video processor allows for 4K videos to be easily compressed and streamed to your display without compromising any picture quality. And it looks great!

The AM6 is enclosed in an aluminum chassis, this not only gives the box a sleek and professional look but its build dissipates heat, protects it, and provides stable processing for a kind of task.

The Ugoos X3 Cube is a slightly smaller media player running an Amlogic S905X3 chipset which is slightly slower than the Ugoos AM6 but still has quite a lot of power for such a small form factor and one of the highest performing android powered box we have tested.

Section II: Purchase Options

Ugoos Industrial Co., LTD is an OEM hardware manufacturer that specializes in developing and manufacturing Android HD media players. In early 2011, Ugoos developed the very first Dual-core Android TV dongle in the world and has been a leading company since. To order an Ugoos AM6 or X3 cube device, simply request it through their web store.

Section III: How to Set up the Ugoos AM6 and X3 Cube and Set Optimum Settings

After unboxing your Ugoos AM6 and X3 Cube, turn on your device and connect it to the Ugoos AM6 to a display using the included HDMI cable and plug in the power source. To achieve optimum performance, we suggest connecting the provided WIFI antennas to strengthen the WIFI connection.

1. Set a Default Launcher App

3.1.1. The Ugoos devices come with two separate launcher apps (the app that shows up when you first load the device and have shortcuts to the app drawer and other key apps).

The first time you restart your device after installing the ScreenCloud player app, you will be asked which launcher app you would like to use.

We recommend using the “Launcher3” app instead of “UgoosLauncher”. The “Launcher3” app provides an experience similar to an Android tablet, while the “UgoosLauncher” provides an experience similar to an Android TV device.

Select the option you prefer and then select “Always” to ensure that the launcher app is always launched at startup.

Note: While following the steps above it’s likely that the ScreenCloud player app will load (as it had been set to start at boot in previous steps). If this happens simply close the ScreenCloud player app by pressing the back button twice or dragging in from the right to open the side menu and selecting “Exit Player”.

2. Set Optimum Settings

To set up your configurations, using the provided remote or external mouse to select your settings.

3.1.1. To start setting your configurations, find the "settings" button and this will open up a sidebar where you can set up your device.

3.3. Next, set your network settings. If you have your device connected to the internet via an Ethernet cable, you’ll be good to go, but if you need to connect via a WiFi network, click on “Wi-Fi” and enter the password.

Section V: How to Set up the AirDroid Business Remote Device Management Service on the Ugoos devices

One of the advantages of using an Android-powered business device like the Ugoos AM6 or x3 Cube is the ability to install and use remote device management services and apps.

If you would like to use a remote device management service with either of the Ugoos devices we recommend AirDroid Business, which we have thoroughly tested with this device and the ScreenCloud app. AirDroid Business makes it possible to remotely view or control your device, which gives you control in the scenario that something goes wrong. You can also get additional features via their Kiosk Mode and Application Management add-ons.

To learn more about using AirDroid Business to remotely manage the Geniatech APC395X, you can read our detailed guide here.
