This article will go through how to schedule a daily reboot for Chrome Devices with Chrome Device Management.
Scheduling device reboots are recommended as it allows for the app to undergo a fresh restart daily to help the app perform more optimally and stable. Any device and/or app running consistently for extended periods of time, not secluded to just digital signage, can come across crashes or app issues on occasion. These features can help your Chrome devices perform best for digital signage.
Please follow the steps below to begin:
- Visit your Google Admin Console.
- Go to Devices.
- On the left, click Chrome Management.
- Click Device settings.
- (Optional) On the left, select the organizational unit where you want the Wi-Fi network to apply.
Note: By default, an organization inherits the settings of its parent in the organization tree. However, you can override the inherited setting by explicitly changing the setting for the child organization. The new setting applies to users in that organization, and any of its children.
- Scroll down to Power and Shutdown, find Scheduled reboot and enter the number of days before reboot.
- And then click Save.
Settings typically take effect in minutes, but they might take up to 24 hours to apply for all devices.
