Hello and thank you for visiting our ScreenCloud Help Center. This article will go through how to schedule a daily reboot for Chrome Devices with Chrome Device Management.

Scheduling device reboots are recommended as it allows for the app to undergo a fresh restart daily to help the app perform more optimally and stable. Any device and/or app running consistently for extended periods of time, not secluded to just digital signage, can come across crashes or app issues on occasion. These features can help your Chrome devices perform best for digital signage.

Please follow the steps below to begin:

  1. Visit your Google Admin Console.
  2. Go to Device management.
  3. On the left, click Chrome Management.
  4. Click Device settings.
  5. On the left, select the organization that contains the devices you want to make settings for.
For all devices, select the top-level organization. Otherwise, select a child organization.
  6. Scroll down to Power and Shutdown and Scheduled Reboot, enter the number of days before reboot
  7. At the bottom, click Save.

Settings typically take effect in minutes, but they might take up to 24 hours to apply for all devices.
