Hello and thank you for visiting our ScreenCloud Help Center. This article will go through using an image with a transparent background in ScreenCloud, and how the image optimizes for use within your account.
Currently, ScreenCloud is unable to support images with transparent backgrounds or configurations. All images uploaded into ScreenCloud are automatically converted and optimized for a .jpg format. Alpha transparent images (i.e. images with transparent properties) are supported in the .png format.
For example, transparent images will appear when uploaded or managed on your computer with a checkerboard background that will assume the color of any background you use it against while uploading it on websites which are .png compatible.
When uploaded, the image will convert to the supported format in ScreenCloud as a .jpg/.jpeg and use the checkerboard background, instead of applying the color of a background the image is being used against. We recommend using an image that does not have transparent properties to avoid this in case you notice the checkerboard effect behind any of your images on a screen.
Our development team is working on adding this type of enhancement for .png support in the future. You can learn more about supported file types in ScreenCloud by clicking here.
