How to tell the difference between Amazon Fire TV Box 1st and 2nd generation (Physically)?

Hello and thank you for visiting our ScreenCloud Help Center. This article will go through how to tell the difference between an Amazon Fire TV Box 1st and 2nd generation, by looking at the physical body of the device.

You can quickly differentiate the two easily by looking at the ports in the back of the device. The first generation Amazon Fire TV Box has a larger power port and an optical audio port. The Second Fire TV box doesn't have the optical audio port but has a microSD slot:
