1. Upload Your Content

Let's start with some of the fun stuff and get some content uploaded!

Now that you have some screens added, and you have a playlist, it's time to get some content added.

1.1 - Start by uploading your content. In the right-hand sidebar, you'll see the content tab.  repository. Head over there, then hit upload:

You can upload files from your computer, or connect with Facebook, Dropbox, Google Drive, Flickr, or any number of other services. We're all about making at as easy as possible for you.

1.2 - After you upload your content, it may be helpful to give the content a human-friendly name, so you can easily find the content you need. To change the name on content, simply click on the name, and enter the new name. Easy!

Or Select Your Webpages

You don't have to upload content if you want to; instead, you can show dynamic web content - for example, a YouTube video, a website, a dashboard, or anything else you'd like.

  • To add a web URL, press the "Add Site" button:

  • Then fill in the URL for the site/page you want to show on your screens. In this case, I want to show the ScreenCloud homepage:

Once you've added all your content, it's time to add it into a playlist...

1.3 - Add the ScreenCloud player on your screen

To display content from the cloud, you need a ScreenCloud player. They're available for a number of different platforms; grab the one you need for your screen

Make a note of the pairing code that's appearing on your screen; you'll need that a little bit later on.

2. Create Playlists

In order to add your content, you need a playlist to add your content to.

2.1 - In the left-hand menu, press 'Create new playlist', or start editing a playlist that's already there:

2.2 - Next, give your playlist a name by clicking on the name, and typing in a name:

You can also choose the color of your playlist if you want, by pressing the 'playlist color' button. That's just for show, but may make it easier to visualize what you're doing once it comes to making schedules later on:

Populate the playlist

You've added some content and created a playlist. Perfect, now let's combine the two.

To do that, drag and drop the content from the right-hand content list to the playlist.

If you want to re-order the things in your playlist, simply grab it and drag it up or down.

Excellent. We now have content and playlists.

Now it's time to schedule some of those playlists to our screens!

3. Create Schedules

We have uploaded some content, we've created playlists and added some of the content to them, now it's time to create a schedule of when we want those playlists to turn up:

3.1 - Hit the Create New Schedule button, and then click on the name above the schedule to give it a name:

3.2 - Now to actually schedule something. To do that, click and hold the mouse button on the schedule, where you want the scheduled playlist to start, say 8 am on Monday. Drag the mouse until the end point of your schedule, let's say 4 pm:

3.3 - Now hit the little + button, and you'll be able to pick your playlist:

3.4 - Here, you'll also be able to fine-adjust the playlist that's playing. Hit save, and you'll see that your playlist has been scheduled in:

Please Note: The schedules you create will automatically run on a re-occurring basis. For example, if you create a schedule for Monday's, this schedule will run every Monday moving forward if set to a screen. Though, you can interchange or update the content in a playlist on anytime that is set to run on a schedule, or change the timing of your schedules created as well.

4. Add Screens

The final step is to add a screen where you want your content to be shown off. We support a lot of different types of players. If you already have a player, pick your favorite; if you haven't yet, don't let that stop you as you can use your Android phone or iOS device to test it out, or you can run a Chrome player in your Google Chrome browser

4.1 - Follow the instructions for your player to get the player up and running, then add it to ScreenCloud by clicking on Screens:

4.2 - Once you're inside, hit the Add Screen button:

4.3 - And then enter the screen pairing code, along with a name for your screen:

  • Great, you'll see your new screen turn up in the list of screens:

4.4 - Groovy. Now we just need to choose which schedule you want to show for your screens. Hit the Set Schedule button, and choose the schedule you want to show on this screen:

Hit save and boom, you're in business; your playlist will start showing on your screen within seconds:
